I love creating paper art! Y'all tin can do SO much with it, and it always amazes me how versatile information technology is. Like how you can layer paper to create a 3D scene like the ane in the photo higher up, which I call my Secret Garden. The layers of newspaper create depth and drama. To make this Shadow Box Newspaper Art project, you'll need 65 lb. white or light-colored newspaper. I used 12″ ten 12″ white and pastel newspaper for the two shadow boxes in this tutorial. It'south of import that you employ 65 lb. cardstock — regular 20 or 24 lb. paper will be also light and see-through, and heavier 80 lb. cardstock won't let enough light in.

- (Optional) LED light strip at least 36″ long (I used this one from Lowes and this one from Menards, but you tin can also get them at Amazon)

What I really like about this shadow box paper art is that it looks good with the lights on and off, and yet actually very unlike. You can experiment with paper colors for a unique look — simply remember to keep the colors light and then the light can polish through.
